Contemporary technology opens new Lines of Flight, but are they for us to escape or to be escaped?
Join us for the private view of Lines of Flight, a group exhibition curated by Phenotypica Art & Science.
Bringing together art, science and technology, the show looks beyond the human as the centre and invites to explore new ways of imagining coexistence with other forms of life and intelligence.
Inspired by philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, Lines of Flight features seven artists whose work questions fixed boundaries: between human and animal, living organisms and machines, ourselves and the technologies we create. From working with ancient cyanobacteria as sculptural partners to to reflecting on the risks of humanising AI, the artworks invite visitors to move beyond clear-cut categories, providing clues for navigating a world in constant change.
Featuring work by:Adam Peacock, Karen Tang, Katya Sykes, Louise Beer, Pale Blue Dot Collective (with John Hooper), Phenotypica Art & Science (Neus Torres Tamarit and Ben Murray) and Sarah Gilbert.
Free entry. All welcome.
